Learn the elements of kite construction using bamboo sticks and plastic bags.
This workshop will be facilitated by a well-known kite maker and kite flying champion Mr George Pillay.
In 4 hours he will teach you how to make a simple traditional Seychellois “fish kite” (Pwason) and will introduce you to basic tools and materials for use.
Special emphasis is paid to the curves and tails which are aerodynamic requirements of a functional kite. Next, He will design and build a “ Serengol” which is a more complex kite to fly but beautiful to watch.
Join us for the kite making workshop which will prepare you for the Flying HIGH COMPETITION which will be a great gathering of kite flyers at Freedom Square on Saturday 28 August 2010.
Everyone is welcome!
Join us on Saturday 7th August from 9.00a.m – 2p.m at the office of the National Council for Children, Bel Eau (Materials will be provided).
