The Regatta remains a popular event with families and kids of all ages who come to Beauvallon to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
This year the creation of a new special area for a Children’s village created a lot of anticipation and excitement not only for children , but also for their families, caregivers and friends. The village was designed and put together by the National Council for Children with the help of the Montessori pre - school staff and volunteers.
Saturday 31st July was the first day of discovery. As they made their entry into the village, children were greeted by four clowns who offered smiles, laughter , balloons and sweets to them.
Samantha the jolliest clown of them all featured on the puppet show programme, sang heartily with the karaoke participants and went everywhere to provide a great and unique experience to the young ones entering the village.

Both the team of workers and volunteers from the National Council for Children and Montessori pre –school showed that they could organize and host activities to keep children entertained for two consecutive days .

Kids were provided with activities such as the popular apple - eating competition , face painting, puppet show, hoopla – coconut shy and much more. There were loads of quality games which included some ball throwing games , slat the rat , twisters, snakes and ladders etc. Children could also use free play areas to slide; swing, jump and bounce all over inflated castles .

Besides these activities, a special stall was reserved for families who wanted to try their luck at the lucky dip stall, the wheel of fortune and roll -a -rupee. Their interest in the games was stoked by worthy prizes that waited for lucky draws and lucky guesses.

All in all the village provided fun , excitement and relaxation for tired parents and it seems that everyone had a wonderful time at Regatta 2010.
